Money Money Money

The accounting department is overhauling some of their departmental policies and the like, and as a result, there is a slightly new process for the money drawer.

From now on, the drawer will be counted to $50 EVEN, and this INCLUDES ALL CHANGE. I know it's a pain to count change every day, but the Town is really cracking down on how cash is handled, so we have to do this the right way. Money should be counted down every night, the sheet in the drawer needs to be filled out and initialed, and the money should be put in Carla's desk as usual with a sticky note with the total (which will now probably always include change) - so an envelope is a good idea. Money should also be counted again in the morning and the sheet initialed. If there is ever a discrepancy between the pm and am total, please let me know ASAP.

There is a new form, but it should be self-explanatory. And, when counting the drawer back at night, keep in mind that you want about $10 in change, and small bills for making change. If you can avoid hanging on to a 20, please do.

Questions, help - please see me or Carla.

Thanks!
