Hello Everyone!
It is officially summer reading time. Our kick-off event was very well attended and there are already more than 60 kids signed up for summer reading. If I am not here, I will leave the summer reading notebook at the circ desk. If someone wants to sign up you write their name on a white sheet (there are extras in the book) and file it alphabetically. Then you give them 4 things: a summer reading log (they can choose between the title list, the time sheet, or both - wee seem to have enough), a bag, a bookmark and the Star Spangled Paper Chain sheet.
When kids return their reading logs you should write your initials under the last item listed/star colored. Then make a note on their page in our notebook of the date and amount read so far. Then they can pick out a prize from the prize basket. (If this is not at circ with the notebook it will be on the floor behind my desk).
