Opening DVDs and CDs
We seem to be still be struggling with opening up the DVD and CD cases. Ideally, this should be done at check-out as well as check-in, but it MUST be done at check-in at a minimum. We have had several cases returned empty in the past couple of weeks, and I have noticed more than one person not opening cases during check-in.

A patron came to the circ desk with a DVD that had been checked out to her the day before. She handed me the DVD and said open this. Inside was a cracked and very badly damaged DVD with a note. The note was from the last patron who took the movie out claiming the DVD broke when she tried to take it out. She left her phone number and offered to pay for it. I will leave this at the circ desk so you can take a look.
We are all so busy in this summer rush. Please keep an eye on new staff and volunters and remind them to look and count and match titles.
