"Teacher" Cards

With the start of a new school year, we will probably get some requests for "teacher cards" from people. Because we have had some problems with teacher cards and how they were used in the past, here are some things you should know:

Identification - anyone requesting a teacher card is required to show their SCHOOL ID (or a check stub) when requesting the card.

The teacher is responsible for the use of the card, and responsible for the items taken out on the card.

The check-out period is 28 days, with 1 renewal.

Limit of 50 items per card.

I year expiration date on June 30.

Teacher cards are NOT fine exempt!

Please place a note on the card's account saying "For school/institutional use ONLY."

Their personal card must be used for personal items. In fact, they MUST have a personal card in good standing in order to qualify for a teacher card (this is to prevent someone with a blocked card from just getting a teacher card in stead).

The main purpose of a teacher card is to allow an instructor to have an extended loan period so that they may use books and materials for IN CLASS assignments and instruction. Books and materials taken out on a teacher card ARE NOT TO BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS to take home. We had many issues with this at one point, so this needs to be made clear to the teacher when they sign up for a teacher card.

Lastly, A teacher card sticker needs to be placed on the teacher card. The sticker sheet can found in the Museum Passes drawer, and should be placed on the FRONT of the library card.

Any questions, please ask.
Thanks!
