Pub Serve May 3, 2012
Michelle has been busy updating the staff pages and library information. If there are any changes regarding staffing or hour opened we can just email her the changes and she can have it done in an hour.
Sort to light: The majority of libraries seem to have completely switched over to the no slip option. One library has decided to put it off until they have renovated their library (3 years from now)! People were not happy to hear that and let her know it. Several libraries say they are placing the bins next to staff and they put each item directly into the bin. I am going to try this for myself and volunteers. Everyone needs to come up with some sort of system that works for them. One library suggested pulling out any slips before we close that bin up.
We can no longer bundle any items.
Library Staff are still renewing items from other libraries more than twice by overriding the pop up message. We can renew our own items as many times as we like but not other libraries. This is another reason we should not be setting initials unless you are cataloging. The pop up messages are important.
There was also a complaint about staff checking things out to themselves when there are holds on the item. They asked we all play by the rules.
Bar codes should be in front top left regardless of what it covers.
The agenda for this meeting is now in the pub serve book.
