NO MORE BAGS

As of January 15th, SEMLS wants the libraries to stop packaging the DVDs (and etc) in the bubble bags. According to their tests, the bags don't help much (this point was contested strenuously by Nantucket because their stuff ships in BAGS and not bins). In any event, no more packaging. It was pointed out that if you put your AV materials in a separate bin (without books) it helps in terms of damage. We have stopped packaging as of now, and we will be using the separate bin method to see how it goes.

Since writing out a slip for each movie is cumbersome, and we aren't supposed to band items together, you can continue to place DVDs in the drawers, and use the pre-printed slips ON EACH ONE before placing them in the bin for delivery. If you have questions, please see me or Kathy.
