AARP Driver Safety Program - Registration

Once again we are offering the AARP Driver Safety Program. The class will take place on Saturday, April 21st from 10 - 2:30. There is a small fee, which must be paid at time of registration to secure a spot. The cost for attending is $14 for non-AARP members and $12 for AARP members, (AARP members must show their AARP membership cards when paying.) Cash or checks made out to AARP accepted.

I will put a sign-up sheet up at the Circulation Desk; people cannot just call in and register because they must PAY . We are collecting payment for AARP. A red plastic bucket for the AARP cash and checks has been placed at the Circulation Desk in the second drawer down on the left. There is a limit of 30 people, which has been set by AARP (not us); that is the maximum number of people that they can teach. There is a break for lunch from 12:00 to 12:30. The instructor recommends that they bring their own lunch, since 30 minutes is not much time to go out and get something. We can store lunches in the fridge for the day.

If anyone comes into the library and expresses a strong desire to attend the AARP program, but they say that they do not have the money to afford it, please direct them to Jessica. DO NOT automatically send them in just because they express the desire to not pay. There has to be a strong financial need. Jessica will make determinations on a case-by-case basis.
