Pub Serve November 7, 2013

Hi,
This months pub serve meeting was rather short. All of the outages lately have kept us all busy.

When Millennium Goes Down:

1) Do not call to see if it is a system problem or one only involving our library. Wait awhile and watch your emails.
2) Do not keep trying to log on to Millennium. Wait for the email saying the system is back up. The system can actually look like it is working but patron records can actually get lost if the system is not ready to receive information.
3) Use the email problems@clamsnet.org for any questions you have.
4) Upload each computer after you get the OK. If it is a system outage they will let us know when they are ready and that they are watching for uploaded information.
5)Computers can be safely shut off at night and information uploaded the next day.
6) It was advised that we only check out material during the time we are using offline. Preforming any other function may not work. Also, enter in patrons using their clams card only. Never type in a patrons name.This is not reliable.



Other Items discusses:

1) Do not log on to Millinium November 21st. The system will be down most of the day and we will be notified via email when it is back up.
2) Check out the new staff pages at clamsnet.org using your clams email to log in.
