PROCEDURE
FOR NON-RESIDENT (OUT OF STATE) LIBRARY CARDS
All non-resident cards will
require an initial, refundable, cash deposit of $20.
(We cannot accept checks)
Patron MUST be at least 18
years old to apply.
1.
Have patron fill
out NON-RESIDENT LIBRARY APPLICATION (yellow) FORM
2.
Take a copy of
patron’s license/photo ID.
3.
Create a new Card
in the System:
a.
If patron wants a
temporary card: make the expiration date
October 31st of this year.
b.
Creat POP-up
message that says “TEMPORARY NON-RESIDENT CARD” – with your date and initials
(DPL/jr 6/30/2015)
c. Explain to
patron:
i. Please remember to
return your temporary card in person to
this library to receive back your deposit before the end of your
vacation/visit.
ii.
If you fail to
pick up your deposit in person, we
will make your card usable for our online services (Mango, Freegal, etc) for one year (at which time
they can apply for renewal)
iii.
We will not mail
out any deposits or refund them after October 31st of this year.
Patrons
returning card: (Person who made initial deposit -MUST RETURN CARD IN PERSON)
1.
Scan temporary card for outstanding
items. ALL items must be returned before
we can refund deposit.
2.
Pull application
and $20. MAKE SURE THEY SIGN AND DATE ON
THE BOTTOM OF APPLICATION THAT THEY RECEIVED THEIR DEPOSIT! Put your initials and the date you gave them
their $20.
3.
Delete patron
record, return temporary card to drawer for re-use.
4.
PUT expired
application in JULIE’s INBOX.
OCTOBER 31ST – ANY APPLICATIONS AND
DEPOSITS NOT REFUNDED GO TO JULIE TO PROCESS.
